Ferdinand GutierrezFounder, Managing Director
With 15 years of international management experience, Ferdinand has forged a career as a proven results-driven leader in through the line marketing and media. By continually evolving his capabilities to match new technology and trends he has been able to stay ahead of the curve with a consumer-first focus while working with some of the world’s most exciting brands.
After a successful run in traditional media, he shifted his focus in 2005 to commit to a career in digital. During his tenure, Ferdinand has grown to become a regional leader in digital marketing. Tasked with developing capabilities throughout SEA for New Media (Full Service Regional Digital Agency Start-Up) and Neo@Ogilvy (WPP Digital Media Agency), Ferdinand has lead over 200 Digital Professionals and has delivered over 60M USD in revenue.
With a passion for gaming and the desire to build consumer-centric digital products, Ferdinand founded Sandbox in July 2010. With an international team of 20 talented individuals, Stylista will be launched in early 2012.
When he's done playing superman for the business, Ferdinand is cheering the NY Knicks and has more songs in his itunes than our entire team together.
Jon LorCreative Director
Jon's career has spanned from New York to Hong Kong and Singapore working for established marketing agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, Kirshenbaum Bond, and Avenue A / Razorfish. He's led digital campaigns for 8+ years managing blue chip accounts with multi-million dollar budgets. Jon's built a series of successful browser-based flash apps with Ralph Lauren, Yahoo, and BMW and has won the MIXX awards for digital marketing & demand generation in the process. Having been selected into the prestigious Morgan Stanley start-up program, Jon has helped young businesses in New York City grow from the ground up and its fueled his undying entrepreneurial spirit. Combined with a passion for gaming since age 7, his ultimate goal of building his own game is finally coming to fruition.
Being a self-glorified "foodie", Jon can be spotted trying out new restaurants and traveling the globe. And when he's not crazing over game design, he keeps busy by beating Ferdinand in fitness competitions.Peter Theisen, PhDDirector, Product Development
Dr. Peter Theisen has held senior business consulting roles starting with Accenture in 2000 where he supported companies in the field of Mergers and Acquisions in Germany. He later moved to Theron Business Consulting where he expanded his skillset by focusing on improving effectiveness of IT organizations. Peter migrated to Asia in 2004 where he continued his career as a Business Consultant for large Thai and International companies in strategic planning and strategy implementation. Furthermore, he supported a varied range of local start-ups in setting up solid structures to enable them for grow. In his role of Chief Strategy officer, he helped a Full Service Regional Digital Agency Start-Up build their base for their expansion throughout South East Asia. Peter acquired his first Master degree in Thermodynamics from the Technical University of Aachen, Germany and then continued on to earn his PhD in Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering in University of Stuttgart, Germany.
As our resident "rocket scientist" (no, seriously), Peter can be found rocking out in his band as the pianist and enjoys a nice, peaceful Yoga session. He's also the founder of our company's "Pizza Fridays".Maxx KaufmanDirector of Art & Design
Maxx has been in the video game industry since 1995, previously having worked in the entertainment industry on such movies as Stargate and Outbreak. Maxx's game industry career began at Xatrix Entertainment where he served as Art Director on the "Redneck Rampage" series, "Starhunters", "Quake II, the Reckoning" as well as "Kingpin: Life of Crime". Following Xatrix, Maxx spent 3 years at Gray Matter Studios as Managing Art Director/ Co-founder. Mr. Kaufman art directed the interactive academy award winning and best selling game, "Return to Castle Wolfenstein". Maxx earned his Bachelor's of Industrial Design degree at Syracuse.
After he's done making our games look stunning, he's out speed racing in his Maserati waking up the neighbours.Racha SachdevHead of Game Development
Racha joins us with a wealth of experience in the technology sector. Being the technical lead, Racha was the architect behind building many of the systems for established clients such as Adidas, Canon, and Universal Music. As Sandbox's technology guru, he's able to take his team from conception through deployment & has led several successful development projects with Hewlett-Packard and drove the QA and deployment for True.
When he's not kicking our tech team's butt into shape, he's busy refining his extensive collection of Apple gadgets and computers (which he has had since the Apple ][ days).
Zac AlcampoHead of Game Design
Zac’s game design career started in 2005 with 7 years experience working for established game developers, Microsoft and Activison. Having designed multiple AAA titles, Zac has always led a hybrid role dividing his time from game design through character development with influence in titles such as “Too Human” and ” X-Men destiny”. He also was the face of Activision leading the PR push of their global campaign.
Zac ended up in Sandbox after backpacking around Asia, if he is not seen flexing his muscles in the fighter ring you will most likely find him working his out-of-the-world dance moves on the floor.
